Legal Requirements

You must be 21 years of age to purchase alcoholic beverages from this site. Upon finalizing your sale over the web, you are certifying that you are of legal drinking age. In many states falsifying this information is a crime.

All phone orders must certify that they are and whoever is signing for the receipt of the order is 21 yrs. of age. Falsifying any information via phone is a crime under the penalty of perjury.

Receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages requires the signature of a sober adult (a person 21 years of age or older who is not intoxicated). Wines purchased from The Golden Pig Wine Shop are not for resale, and are for personal consumption only.

Online orders are by credit card only. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Minimum Purchase

No minimum purchase is required.

States Authorized for Direct Shipment

Due to the ever-changing nature of wine shipping laws, we are not legally able to ship wine to every state in the US. Currently we are able to ship to WA, OR, CA, ID, NV, AZ, NM, TX, WY, CO, ND, NE, KS, MN, IA, MO, AR, LA, MI, WI, IL, TN, IN, OH, ME, NH, NY, CT, NJ, MD, WV, VA, NC, SC, GA & FL. Shipping

UPS is The Golden Pig Wine Shop carrier of choice (common carrier). Ground shipping is provided by The Golden Pig Wine Shop at current market rates. *Note – If the customer selects express shipping as his or her carrier, the customer pays all shipping charges, regardless of his or her wine club membership or purchase amount.

Wine is a Delicate Commodity

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extremes of temperature: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment.

Please note, with extreme heat during the summer months and extreme cold during the winter months, we may hold shipments to your area to prevent spoilage of the wine. If you feel this may be a problem because of a time sensitive package, please contact us at wineshop@thegoldenpig.com or (707) 744-8375 to discuss other options.  If you are concerned about the weather in your area, you may request a specific shipping date or you may choose a faster shipping method. The Golden Pig Wine Shop is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment.

Orders placed will ship within the next 4 business days. Faster shipping options may be available. Please contact us for more information. You will receive an email containing tracking information once your order is boxed and ready for shipment. Please note, these tracking numbers will not be active until they are scanned by the driver. (For example, if you have an order scheduled to ship on a Monday, we may box it on a Friday and send you the tracking info. However, the tracking info will not be valid until the driver picks it up on Monday.)

When your wine order is picked up by the common carrier for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the purchaser.

You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase wine from wineshop.thegoldenpig.com. All packages sent out by sipmendocino.com require a signature upon delivery. It is highly recommended that you provide us with a business shipping address for best service. Customer comments on their order such as "Please leave on back porch" or "Please leave at front door" will be ignored by UPS. We will not be able to refund any shipping charges if your package comes back to us because there was no adult to sign for the wine.
